ANK Enterprises was formed in 1979 as the result of a consolidation of several single-asset corporations which held investment real estate properties. ANK is controlled and operated by the Kornmeier family. The origins of ANK are rooted in General Construction Company which was founded in the early 1930's by Frank P Kottenstette, the patriarch of the family.

ANK currently owns and acts as property manager for all of its commercial and multi-family real estate holdings located in southeastern Michigan..
